Being Healthy

Between the ages of nine and eighteen, you experience a series of physical changes

called puberty.

It sometimes causes problems. These include skin problems, troublesome hair condition

and also swings in mood.

Sometimes you may feel very happy and confident and other times you may feel unsure

of yourself and your appearance.

To cope with the change, you need to stay healthy. If your body is in good condition, you

will feel energetic, confident and able to deal with the ups and downs of everyday life.

Physical health can influence how you feel about your looks.

Your health shows in your appearance: a happy, healthy person has good skin and hair,

and sparkle in the eyes.

Good health makes you better equipped to fight illness and resist infections.

It also helps protect you from certain diseases in adulthood, such as heart disease.

These long-term benefits may seem unimportant when you are a young person, but there

are also immediate benefits to living healthily.

    Adolescents experience puberty from ages nine to eighteen when they go through many physical changes such as voice and pubic hair.

    During puberty, both girls and guys will encounter physical and emotional differneces.

    However, it is important to understand these changes in order for teenagers to be confident about themselves.

    One thing teenagers can do to cope these problems is to stay healthy.

    Staying healthy helps a person to feel confident and to develop a better immune system which contribute to overcoming puberty.
