Why are there more jobs being LOST than created under the "great" Obama?

"GM proposed a painful downsizing that would eliminate 21,000 workers, 2,600 dealers, $44 billion in debt and four brands -- while making the U.S. government majority owner of what was once the world's largest company."

http://www.latimes.com/business/la-fi-gm28-2009apr...

SO where are those jobs Obama is going to create? Chrysler declares bankruptcy, GM fires workers and yet Obama has all the answers according to the liberal fools that voted the marxist into office.

By the way, notice how the article fails to mention how many will be out of work with the dealerships closing, let say only 50 people per dealership, 2,600 dealers equals 130,000 MORE unemployed under the "great" Obama administration.

Don't forget he actually changed his statement to "3 million jobs will be SAVED or created." which means that as long as 3 million americans still have jobs, he was right. You really gotta pay attention with obama, man i thought clinton was slick but obama takes the need to really listen what he says to a whole new level. the guy is as slick as wet dog crap. And loves to talk in circles. or occasionally when there is a teleprompter malfunction he simply repeats himself. our president is Ron Burgundy.

President Obama might be the 'messiah' ... [your words] ... he's at least 200% better than your guy who was more of a 'MESSER' whose lack of checks and balances on the economy caused the mess that led to the loss of millions of jobs ... be grateful that President Obama's cool head under enormous pressure is helping our economy to turn around ... he's not a messiah or some sort of magician so don't expect him to fix up 8 year's mess-ups in 5 minutes!

The alternative is to let all of the big 3 go under.

    Do that math.

GM's newest restructure plan is at least a dozen years overdue. GM is far too large, with too many brands each selling rebadged versions of the same cars that just compete with other GM brands. That couldn't go on forever. They shouldn't have stopped at Oldsmobile back in 2001. This really has nothing to do with Obama.

it is because trillions are being spent into the banks and nothing is being spent into the manufacturing sectors of the economy......and besides the # of jobs related to dealers is a lot higher because you are forgetting about the tire companies, glass, plastics, electronics(car stereos etc), paint, millions of miles of wire, and of course the exhaust dealers , and the list is endless that is connected to the auto industry,...it is more like 15 - 20 MILLION jobs that are connected, either directly or indirectly to the auto industry....the government has everyone turned against them to favor the trillions to bail out the banks.....the auto is over 20% of GDP, the banks are 0% of GDP...wake up.........more needs to be invested in the manufacturing and less in banks

Those big jobs are going to exist some 10 years down the road.

The jobs he created, were temporary construction jobs and quick fixer uppers, until the stimulus money runs out and then it's back to square one. Which we are at now.

The other jobs he said he "saved," are impossible to track. It's impossible to find out who WAS going to get fired, but didn't.

SAME AS the "new deal" under FDR.

For every job FDR created in the Government sector, 1 (or more) were lost in the PRIVATE sector (where they count the most).

Obama has FOOLISHLY modeled himself after FDR.... ignoring History and embracing the hope that the mindless masses will always favor the "handout" over the "handup". Based on his election, it appears to be working.

We're losing a lot of jobs because of the fallout from the Bush economy--not what Obama has been doing.

If you would take the cotton out of your ears and put it in your mouth you could have heard him say. It going to get worse before it gets better. It takes a while to stop the speeding train that Bush and his cohorts created.

Because the flood from before Obama is still so strong, he can't stop it right away, his fixes will stop it soon.

Because the damage Bush and the Republicans did to the economy is still being felt today. It will take years to undo the damage.
