What does mechanically seperated chicken mean?
When I go to the groceries often see it on the ingredients for wienners and sausage. I dont buy it, instead I buy others that just say chicken. Could it be that its the same but they dont specify if it is also mechanically seperated. I dont really know what it means but it doesnt sound good.

Mechanically separated means that the product is cut and separated by machinery rather than by hand. Adding ingredients is still another process and it is usually performed by workers and/or machinery afterwards.

It means every part of the chicken is used: bones, intestines, skin, etc.
