stage 1 and stage 2 are slightly different in texture and Stage 3 has chunks in it. If your child can eat stage three then they are ready to start on table foods, ages differ by child. So children are ready at this age and some are not ready until 12 months. Check out the website for the baby food you use they have guidelines for you on there.

Basically you know your child best go with your instincts but don't push your child to grow up to fast.
My daughter started stage three about this age. When starting on table food start with cheerios and things that easily dissolve if they get caught in her throat. Once she has those things down slowly add more and more things. Good luck. Hope this helps.
