I wish I had answered your Usafa question a while back when I saw it. It is unclear if the dogs are doing that outside or in the house. If it is in the house that is a health hazard. You need to have a family discussion regarding the issue. Regardless of where it is, just pick it up even if no one else does, and then at every chance let the dogs out of the house. It is not as if they are going to freeze in a subtropical climate. Not having food to eat is not acceptable and that also needs to be addressed in a family discussion. The other issues, regarding your brother, sister and parents are not the best but are really more of issues involving your parents relations with each other and your siblings than with you, and should be less of an issue for a senior in high school who will probably be out of that environment within a year. From what you have stated, you failed AP US History because you did none of the work but are retaking it; got a C and F in Pre Calc and a D and C in Physics, also because you did none of the work. Not great but also not the end of the world. Most students are not even taking Pre Calc in 11th grade. Still getting A's in English which along with Math are the most important subjects. The reason being is that the Psat, Sat and Act essentially only test Math and English. The Psat Math tests Algebra 1 and Geometry. There is no indication if you took the Psat. The Sat Math tests Algebra 1, Geometry and Algebra 2. The Act Math tests Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2, Trigonometry. Trigonometry is often covered in Algebra 2 and also in Pre Calculus. Since you had all A's and B's through 10th grade, and took Algebra 2 as a sophomore, and can obviously write well, you have the fundamentals to be able to do well on the SAT exam, especially if you prep for it. I suggest getting an Sat Prep book and starting to do so. You also need to start doing your best in your classes. Another point is that you wanted to try for an appointment to the Air Force Academy so that you can fly jets, but there is no mention of any involvement in athletics or any other non athletic activity besides MCJROTC. If you want to commission as an officer through a service academy or through Afrotc/Nrotc/Rotc, you should get involved in any school based athletic activity that you can this year. Looks like you have a choice of soccer, baseball or tennis at the moment; then in December, basketball, wrestling, golf or rugby; and in March, volleyball or track and field. Go out for a team each remaining quarter. You will definitely make friends. Also, get involved in some other main stream school based activity like school newspaper, yearbook, debate, or drama. With your writing ability, any of these should be possible.
