Diagnosis: Cervix uteri, punch biopsy, showing moderate dysplasia(CIN II ).
Gross: The specimen consists of7 tissue fragments, fixed in formalin, measuring up to
0.7*0.4*0.4 cm in size. Larger pieces are properly oriented and bisected. All submitted in one cassette.
Micro: The lower two-third of the stratified squamous epithelium display atypical
basal and parabasal cells associated with scattered mitotic figures.The upper
third of the epithelium shows normal maturation and minimal cellular atypism.
Mitotic figures are not observed in the upper zone.
