When Some People Use The Term "White Mexican"?

Are they talking about Mexicans like Robert Rodriguez for example ?

I think he could easily pass for some one from France, Italy, or Spain for example.

well most mexicans acknowledge skin tone more so than "race". someone like robert rodriguez would be on the lighter scale in mexico but i dont think he would be identified as belonging to the "white" race.

Generally, when I think of a "white mexican", i think of someone who i'd have a hard time believing was anything other than european based on his appearance. for example, i'm friends with a few redheaded/freckled mexicans.. so rodriguez really isnt nearly as white in comparison and as far as I know Rodriguez simply identifies himself as Mexican American. By the way, he's supposedly distantly related to actor Danny Trejo who has strong Indian features.
