Participles

Are they the same? Why?

- Beaten in the race, he felt depressed.

- Being beaten in the race, he felt depressed.

- Having been beaten in the race, he felt depressed.

Update:

我見有不少句子也是被動式participle開句.

    第1句係錯嘅,第2句先啱,因為被動式個participle唔可以開句.

    第2句=he was beaten過去式(被動)

    第3句= he had been beaten過去完成式(被動)

    比較第2同第3句,完成式係過去式之前發生嘅,所以第3句早過第2句發生,但意思一樣:輸左比賽,佢唔開心.當然嚴格嚟講,輸比賽之後,先唔開心,所以文法上第3句最準,但由於時間上距離不大,第2句文法都啱,文法唔影響意思就得.
