Why didn't we see any Tea Party protests when President Bush was doubling the national debt?

Bush spent 5 trillion dollars during his 8 years in power.

The Grand Old Spending Party: How Republicans Became Big Spenders

http://www.cato.org/pub_display.php?pub_...

Hmm, where were the Tea Party protests then?? Why didn't we see the same anger??

Hmm, why are these Tea Protests organized by corporate lobbyists and heavily promoted by the partisan Fox "News" network??

http://thinkprogress.org/2009/04/09/lobb...

If these are spontaneous protests, then why does Fox "News" constantly promote it? Their not reporting it, because what is there to report? These events are always reported when their happening! Not before they happen!

Check out the video:

Update:

President Obama wouldn't have to dig into the public purse to prevent an economic collapse if the Republican philosophy of deregulation wasn't put into effect!

Here is the difference:

President Obama is spending money to help save the economy

President Bush was spending money on wars and wasteful government programs

That's the difference.

Update 2:

I'm just trying to point out the complete hypocrisy of Republicans and their obvious hatred against our President that they pretending to all of a sudden care about the national debt.

Why wasn't it a problem at 6 trillion? 7 trillion? 8 trillion?

So it all of a sudden becomes a problem when it's over 10 trillion?

Give me a break, you guys don't care about this issue.

Faux outrage!

Because when Bush was doing it, it was "saving the economy", and when Obama does the exact same thing, it's called "socialism".

You should know the difference. Don't you subscribe to the Republican newsletter? (sarcasm)

Because it's only when republicans are not in power that they have a problem with spending. They have an inferiority complex. Most of the things they criticize Obama for doing is like the things they did when they were in power. They are just a bunch of hypocrites with a complex. They're a joke...

No one seems to get that the only ones whose taxes will go up are the wealthy, they can afford it, the tax system is based on the ability to pay, so they can quit whining...taxes will be going down for lower to middle class households. This tea party protest will be absolutely futile and will not be heard by anyone but the media, you think courts and the IRS are going to give to squats and a crap about a tax protest. I don't think so, they will still collect and impose fines and penalties to those who don't pay.

People protest in demonstration, massive in numbers even, but not that many have the balls to actually practice what they protest and not file. If half of America refused to pay any taxes or fines at all, it might be effective. They can't arrest everyone...our jails can't handle it. Protests can only be effective if they are, not only massive in numbers, but everyone actually practices their protest so to speak.

Candidate Obama ran on fiscal conservatism and rightly decried Bush deficit spending as unsustainable. He was absolutely correct about both issues. I almost voted for him because of it. He came into office and signed a trillion dollar stimulus (with interests) bill that was going to stop unemployment from reaching 8% it is now 9.7%. The health care bill signed into law with the majority of Americans saying they did not want the bill was going to reduce the federal debt and cost people less. The CBO says it will add 10trillion over the next ten years. Personalty my rates went up 16% last month because they will now be forced to expand coverages to meet federal regulations. It will cost me 9000 dollars over the last. It was TRAP that Bush signed and President Obama voted for that was the genesis of the Tea Party. The tea party were sick of Republicans who were not fiscally responsible some of them voted for the democrats who in 2006 said they would be fiscally responsible as the republicans were not. They lied the republicans lied the tea party is independents and republicans who believe in smaller federal government and more individual responsibility. President Obama is Bush on crack. He spends more money, limits even more personal freedoms and does it in the name not of national security but in the name of fairness. Life is not fair.

You can rant your *** off about this, but you will have absolutely zero affect. Man Why do you defend Obama's spending using Bush who you obviously hate. I hate him too. Bush is not an example to follow obviously. Obama will generate more debt than any president before him combined. Wake up and stop supporting the government when they are obviously scum bags. Bush was a scum bag. Obama is a scum bag.

Don't give us the whole democratically elected B.S. Any one with a brain knows the media crowned this guy.

Reagan's 11th Commandment: "Thou shalt not speak ill of any fellow Republican."

President Bush only became "not a Republican" AFTER he left office.

I sure sounds like you are a paid Democrat Party operative.

Almost ALL of the bailout and stimulus money has gone to people and businesses who supported Obama, and to favorite projects of other Democrat politicians.

Just one more example of the evenhandness and equality Obama promised during his campaign, I suppose.

Because the ultra right-wing is trying to over-identify with the "founding fathers". Unfortunately for them, the only thing that could remotely identify with them is a rock or possibly a piece of driftwood.
