Why is a flight not made of black box if FDR can withstand high impact?

The data recorded by the FDR is used for accident investigation, as well as for analyzing air safety issues, material degradation and engine performance.Due to this these devices are carefully engineered and stoutly constructed to withstand the force of a high speed impact and the heat of an intense fire. so, my question is if it can withstand these why is a flight not made of black box to prevent great damage during accidents ??? Justify me .No silly answers.

I used to have a few teachers that stated, "There are no stupid questions."

Well, I'm beginning to think they were wrong, for all the reasons mentioned above, and because this gets asked almost once a day here.

Because quite a lot of them DON'T withstand high impact, and are destroyed. Where ever did you get the notion that the flight recorders don't get destroyed?

The components inside can usually be salvaged.

But, if you want an idea what would happen to an aircraft made the same way, take a raw egg, and place it inside a steel box. Drop the box off of a tall structure. The box will look pretty unscathed. The egg inside will be obliterated. This is what will happen to the human body.

quite some motives. the various products used for various areas of the plant are chosen using their weight, value and adaptableness (there are extra technical words, yet we can circulate with this). The black container flight recorder could be not uncomplicated to wreck, yet to translate that right into a airplane, you are able to finally end up with partitions 2 ft thick that weigh lots! then you certainly might want extra gas, extra efficient engines, and in all likelihood longer runways to get you off the floor.

Please do search yahoo answers first before asking, this question has been asked many times before.

The answer to your question is similar to why cars aren't made out of diamond and why messenger pigeons didnt wear armor plates ;)

Also, the impact of the crash has to be transferred somewhere, so if the plane is made out of incrushable material, it gets transferred to us, and we get smacked around on the inside because of a change in speed from 1000km/h to 0km/h

The FDR are made of stainless steel or titanium metal. Either they are TOO HEAVY or TOO EXPENSIVE.

Besides, most of the death occurs because of

    (1) impact - the body just can take that kind of impact

    (2) smoke inhalation.

    Good luck.......

P.S. This question get asked a lot here. :-)

the black box is like a solid steel suitcase around a computer-type thing. a plane is made of thin metal, aluminum and other stuff for light weight.

The black box is the electronic flight recorder.

    Its container is not indestructible.

FDR and CVR are very solid. also heavy. The recorders are solid state computer chips these days.

a flight is not made of anything, because a flight is intangible.
