Convert .pdf sheet music to .midi files?

Hi! I like working with GarageBand on my Mac a lot. There are ways to convert .pdf sheets of music to .midi files but I don't know how.

Do you know any programs (preferably free, if not that's fine) that will allow me to convert sheet music to sound files? .pdf to .midi?

thank you in advance!

Update:

It is possible and there are programs out there,

SharpEye found here: http://www.visiv.co.uk/ can convert scans of sheet music to a MIDI file. If you can get the PDF into a format that SharpEye can read it should be able to produce a MIDI file. There is a free trial available so it might be worth some experimentation. Let us know if it works for you!

The program I like the most for managing audio files (converting/ripping) is Total Audio Converter. Get it here http://j.mp/1rgDwXr

A pdf is a document. I don't think this is possible by any means.
