Obama names AIG director to tax task force?

Wtf is that? Strange bedfellows?

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- One of the people named this week to President Obama's new Task Force on Tax Reform is a member of the AIG board of directors.

Martin Feldstein, a professor of economics at Harvard University, has been on the board of American International Group since 1988. He also was a prominent economic adviser to Presidents Ronald Reagan and George W. Bush.

Asked about the AIG connection, a senior administration official said Friday that the White House declined to comment on the story.

"The task force's job description is to propose ways to simplify the tax code, reduce tax evasion, close loopholes and make changes in corporate tax breaks."

When I hired people, I seldom (read: never) hired someone who had caused me "outrage".

How outraged could Obama have been?

Update:

Illia, thank you for the suggestion. Very enlightening and frightening. Yes, I am aware this is happening.

Hide and watch.

Then, just hide.

Update 2:

Thank you, everyone, for your responses.

Well, the administration is certainly grateful to the AIG execs for the contributions to the politicians, and they've been richly rewarded.

Obama seems to not care about honesty or integrity of those he has in his own administration, as evicenced by the attempted appointment of Daschle, and the appointment of Geithner, who is also involved in the AIG bonus scandal.

Good politicians are ones who stay bought, evidently.

And America has the best politicians that money can buy.

as quickly as the middle classification is completely destroyed the ruling classification would be loose to do as they please (so that they think of) Republicans and Democrats are beside the point words the ruling classification isn't involved by retaining the form or any institutions of our society that supply the assumption of freedom or wealth potential. they choose to injury those issues and solidify their very own potential.the adjustments between Bush and Obama at the instant are not substance yet form. we've been happening this highway for almost a hundred years marginally increasing the gap between the wealthy potential elite and the undesirable via removing the impact of the middle classification. The D's or R's after one call have not got any genuine meaning. Thank God for my faith as this international, whilst exciting to me and that i care approximately it, would not carry out wish. this is a con game.

Obama has all his pals in his administration. I am surprised he has not appointed william ayers director of homegrown terrorist's. There is such a lack of integrity in the whitehouse, and congress that it is hard to have trust or respect for any of them.

What better way to solve a problem than using someone who caused the problem in the first place. That was a stroke of Genius

The entire "outrage" episode was nothing but a dog and pony show - anyone that fell for it needs to have their head examined

Not everyone that has anything to do with AIG is directly responsible for the dirty deeds done by a few of them.
