This appears to be the Yusuf Ali translation; however, his translation and his commentary contain severe errors that oppose the Islaamic creed.

In fact, one of those severe errors is in the very translated Verses you have mentioned. Namely:

"The way of those on whom Thou hast bestowed Thy Grace, those whose (portion) is not wrath, and who go not astray. "

The more proper translation of the meaning is provided by the translation of Muhsin Khan/Hilaali:

[001.007] "The Way of those on whom You have bestowed Your Grace, not (the way) of those who earned Your Anger , nor of those who went astray."

The key issue is the phrase:

"not (the way) of those who earned Your Anger"

This Verse affirms for Allaah his Attribute of Anger. His Anger is perfect and not comparable to the anger possessed by any created thing.

However, people who have severe errors in their belief deny or twist the meaning of the Names and Perfect Attributes of Allaah by saying:

"those whose (portion) is not wrath..."

These people in their ignorance deny that Allaah possesses the Attribute of Anger, so they intentionally mistranslate this Verse. This is a severe crime in Islaam to do such a mistranslation of the meaning of a Verse.

It is obligatory to believe in Allaah as He describes Himself and as the Messenger of Allaah, peace be upon him, described Him. Allaah is perfect and His Attributes are not comparable to the attributes of the creation. We are not allowed to twist the meanings or deny the Names and Attributes of Allaah.

This is why the Yusuf Ali translation of the Qur'aan should not be used.

For a reliable translation of the meaning of the Qur'aan, look for the Muhsin Khaan / Hilaali translation. Khan and Hilaali were scholars of Islaam and undertook translation by relying on the authentic Sunnah and scholarly explanation of the Qur'aan. Other translators simply did not invest much time in verifying their translations were in accordance with the actual teachings of Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him.

I warn my Muslim brothers and sisters from going to the website suggested by another user : al-islam.org . This is not an Islaamic site, rather it is a site of the Shee'ah who have severe deviations from Islaam.
