Definitely NOT correct.
Acceleration brings a change of velocity. "Reverse in direction of motion" only indicates a change in velocity direction, it doesn't imply that the acceleration also changes its direction.
Just think of an example of a ball thrown vertically upward. When the ball reaches the highest point and returns, the acceleration (the acceleration due to gravity) direction, which always pointing downward, doesn't change at all.
