i'm no longer even specific that Antivirus 2009 virus can infect a Mac of any flavor. i've got seen the popup and that i laughed whilst it did it quite is "test" and that i'm on a WinXP field that I shop particularly preserve. I doubt it could impression a Linux field the two. in case you watch the protection element of solutions, you will see a brilliant variety of people who clicked particularly than closed. it truly is hitting a brilliant variety of people with detrimental judgment. as long as you closed the window and did no longer click it, there is in basic terms some 0 probability it put in something. the undeniable fact which you're on a Mac makes the prospect much greater distant. lower back, i do no longer think of it could touch a Mac. each thing i understand approximately it truly is homestead windows in basic terms. the countless maximum elementary protection ideas will evade extensive issues. What I recommend is Avast! home edition.

    http://www.avast.com/eng/avast_4...

    AVG Anti-Virus free edition.

    http://free.avg.com/

    Comodo Internet Security

Award-Winning Firewall + AntiVirus Suite for FREE :http://personalfirewall.comodo.com/index...

For your firewall what I recommend is using one of these.Pc tools Firewall plus or Zonealarm Firewall.

    Pc Tools Firewall:http://download.cnet.com/PC-Tools-Firewa...

    Zonealarm Firewall:http://download.cnet.com/ZoneAlarm-Firew...

Get keyscrambler personal to protect against keyloggers.

KeyScrambler Personal is a free plug-in for your Web browser that protects everything you type from keyloggers.

It defeats keyloggers by encrypting your keystrokes at the keyboard driver level, deep within the operating system. When the encrypted keystrokes reach your browser, KeyScrambler then decrypts them so you see exactly the keys you've typed. Keyloggers can only record the encrypted keys, which are completely indecipherable. Unlike anti-virus and anti-spyware programs that depend on recognition to remove keyloggers that they know about, KeyScrambler will protect you from both known and unknown keyloggers. What's more, KeyScrambler provides protection without getting in your way. You don't have anything to learn about the program and you don't have to do anything differently, but with KeyScrambler your important personal information will be a whole lot safer.

You could also try going back in time, using System Restore : http://www.ecuhq.com/tricks-f6/create-a-system-res...

If this has been happening for some time now, dont bother going back, but simply destroy all restore points, since virus/spyware may be backed up inside.

    1. Click Start / Accessories / System Tools / System Restore

    2. Look on the left and click on : "System Restore Settings"

    3. Check a box, at : "Turn off System Restore on all drives"

    4. Click Apply / Yes / Ok

    5. Click Start / Accessories / System Tools / System Restore

    6. Click Yes

    7. Uncheck that box

    8. Apply / Ok

    Hope it helped.

Annoying little popup from spyware. I run Linux, so I know the ad is bogus because I have no Windows Registry (which is also sez). IIWY, see if your browser has cancel session cookies and turn that feature on. Switch to Firefox if you haven't alreay.
