Is snopes creatable or is it like Wikipedia?

Lately people keep referring me to snopes as if it was the last word.

snopes is a site run by this girl named barbara mikkelson (or something like that).

she researches myths and provides references when she finds something thats true. but its not exactly an encyclopedia. its just a big list of urban legends. kind of like the online mythbusters
