What Weather conditions does it need and can I grow it indoors???

I have never seen the seeds. All mint is a very invasive plant in your garden beds. I grow mine in pots outside. Nurseries have a difficult time stocking it as cats will "invade" the nursery and pretty much destroy the plants.

It just grows and grows unless it doesn't get any water at all.

I found cat nip seeds at Walmart. I and I have seen it at one of the big chain pet stores - Petco or PetsMart, or something like that. It was not expensive. It is not hard to grow, and like other plants of the mint family, it can be pretty invasive - so if you plant some in your garden, you might want to put it in a part of the garden where there is a divider separating the soil from other sections. That, or plant it in pots. I have some growing wild in my yard here in Minnesota. Last year I made sure to weed out all the other plants growing wild around it (whole lotta motherwort, even more invasive than cat nip) and that made it spread out even more. So there was plenty to harvest throughout the summer and fall, and boy do my cats love it. I even gave a cutting to my boss, and she planted it in her yard for her cats. Easy peasy. It seems to grow happily in shady areas, and I don't bother to water it extra, just whatever rains. But then, this is Minnesota, so it rains a fair bit.

Go to a good online organic shop - you are wanting to buy catNIP not catmint. As some places sell a catmint that is not true catnip

Nepeta cataria is cat nip and the seeds are quite expensive.

Its hard to grow - not like mint at all

I bought mine at a grocery store. And ill let you know about the growing inside! I started mine 2 days ago, i doubt it though because cat nip grows to 3 feet.
