Most drinking water that comes from the tap is tested for heavy metals like iron, and calcium, chlorine and fluoride every day from the water treatment plants. they are also tested once a week from different points in the county they provide water once a week. If you want to know the purity of your water you can contact the water or utility department that you get a bill from. they have to provide you with a water purity test results page. And just to let you know arizona has very clean water. The best water is in New york because of there reverse osmosis system. I hope this helpsSource(s): Asked my Mom who is a retired Enviromental Chemist specalizing in water quality for 30 years.
