Assert is a group for parents and carers of children and young people with angelman syndrome.
I have worked with two children with this condition and they are fantastic people!!
They used to be called "happy puppets" beccause of the way they walk.
They need alot less sleep than other children which is very draining on their parents.
Many suffer with some form of epilepsy.
Most never learn to say more than a couple of recognisable words, tho they can learn to sign using makaton or simular (think justin on Cbeebies).Source(s): http://www.angelmanuk.org/ And my own knowledge!
