名詞和動名詞有甚麼分別呢?如plan 和planning

名詞和動名詞有甚麼分別呢?甚樣用呢?

如plan 和planning

是operation manager 還是operating manager呢?

當寫英文標題時,應用動詞還是動名詞呢?

如評論HK教育模式

應該是 Comment HK education Model還是 Commenting HK education Model,或 analyze、estimate、evaluate...等等

Update:

HI, 我想問阿Ken,operation和operating有甚麼分別呢?

analysis我唔用on用of得唔得呢?

    似乎用 "case study" 來處理你的問題較好:

    1)

如想表達的是 "具體" 的方案內容, 就應該用 "plans / a plan".

Have you got a plan yet? I hope I can read it now.

Yes, I have 3 plans for you to choose!

如只是表達一種 "觀念"、"處事方式" 或 "過程", 則較適宜用 "planning" (uncountable).

You can't just act. You need to think carefully and plan what to do. That means: Planning is important.

    因此兩者的分別似是:

    words vs speaking

    plans vs planning

    2)

"Operations Management" 是一專業名稱 (不是 operation management), 所以, 如果工作性質與 Operations Management 有關, 你寫 Operations Manager 就一定正確 (不應少了 s).

    http://www.allbusinessschools.com/faqs/operations_...

    http://retail.careerbuilder.com/rt.ic/OperationsMa...

但是, 我們也可見不少 Operating Manager 的例子. 不過似乎 job titles 中用 operating 的職位, 不一定是與 "operations management" 有關:

    http://www.cvtips.com/sample_resume/operating_mana...

    http://my.jobstreet.com/jobs/2009/1/a/10/763682.ht...

    http://jobs.trovit.co.uk/jobs/theatre-operating-ma...

因此, 最好先看清楚工作性質, 才決定用 operations 或 operating.

    3)

標題用 comment 或 commenting 也可以, 但是, 如果 comment 是當作名詞來用, 就必須加上適當的 prepositions, 如 comment 要跟 "on":

I wish to give my comment on HK education system ... -->

    Comment on HK education system

    如此類推:

I want to analyze today's global economic crisis .... -->

Analysis on today's global economic crisis

I want to estimate how many people drink and drive ... -->

Estimate / Estimation of drink-driving cases [estimate 及 estimation 皆可以做名詞, 但意思有點出入]

I want to evaluate whether the new policy works ... -->

    Evaluation on new policy's effectiveness

    因此兩者的分別似是:

    words vs [writing]

    plans vs planning

或給你多一些 "實例" 來理解甚麼情況下用 operating 或 operation:

disk "operating" system (DOS) - the basic software system that operates on pc to make application programs work properly

"operating" costs - the costs that you need to operate a company

"operating" room - the room for doctors to have an "operation 手術" for patients

"operating" table - the table where a patient lies on so that the doctor can have an "operation" for him

    2009-02-19 16:24:06 補充:

"operating" / "operation" manager - seem both are acceptable

Some victims are not saved yet, so an urgent "rescue operation" (拯救 "行動") is needed.

另外, analysis 用 of 或 on 也可以 (參字典及 google search 的外國網站例子)

Noun: A noun is a person, place, thing, quality, or act.

    Examples: pencil, girl, supermarket, happiness

Verb: Verbs are action or existence words that tell what nouns do.

Examples: to fly, to run, to be, jump, lived

I plan to work on the project this weekend.

The project needs careful and meticulous planning.

    It should be Operation Manager.

If you want to comment on the HK education system, then you should use NOUN as the title.

Comment, analyze, evaluate seem appropraite for discussing the HK education model. Estimate doesn't seem that appropriate as it involves some type of statistics.
