Why is it more healthy to eat 6 small meals rather then 3 big meals?

Why and what should u eat?

    It helps keep your metabolism faster by constantly fueling your body. The longer you go between meals, the more your body wants to hold onto whatever fat, calories, etc it has already taken in in case of "famine", as if your body doesn't know when the next meal is coming. Eating more frequently keeps blood sugar levels from spiking and dropping, and keeps everything working more efficiently. Its still okay to eat meals, but try eating a smaller breakfast, lunch and dinner, with a snack in between each averaging at about 100 calories to keep yourself from feeling overly hungry during the day. This also helps you avoid gorging after waiting too long between meals.

    People tend to eat more in three meals and a lot of calories,but if you eat smaller meals and less calories most of the time you will not eat as much in those 6 meals or less and not consume as many calories because you are eating closer together.

    Also if ur body cannot utilyze all of the carbs, sugars, etc. It will be stored as fat. If u eat smaller frequent meals ur body is constantly but steadily uses the nutrients without any excess.

    Because you make your metabolism work effectively. If you eat a small portion every 3 hours you are not going to be hungry. Also if you do your exercises to build muscles; for sure you are going to be fit.

    It keeps your metabolism humming throughout the day.

    What you should eat depends on you. Some people are carb types and can handle carbs just fine. Others are protein types (like me) and need to keep the carbs down and the protein high. The more carbs I eat, the more I crave. Most people who are overweight are protein types who are eating too many carbs for their body type.

    its a theory the other answers said, really there is no scientific proof that eating 6 meals a day is better than 3 technically a calorie is a calorie regardless if you eat 1 huge meal a day or 8 small ones if they equal up to the same calories than there is no difference.
