Is is true that poor nutrition when your an infant causes shorter arms and legs?

In a sense, yes and no!
Rickets, a bone disorder, can result from inadequate nutrition. However, the effects of malnutrition as an infant can be much more serious than short arms and legs.
Overall weight and health will certainly be impacted. Height is determined by DNA. You may not live long enough to grow tall as you are programmed, or you may be really thin and sickly.
If generations are involved, the natural selection will favor a smaller body because it needs less quantity of nutrition than a large body.
