Did unions kill the big Three?

    Nope, gas prices did. The big three overspeculated the gas-hogging SUV market, built too many of those, gas went up, people didn't buy them, they're left with lots of unsold inventory. Even though gas has gone back down, people are hopping aboard the Green movement and looking for more fuel efficient cars - something the big three haven't put a lot of money into developing.

    since they are not dead that answer is no. But the unions and the crappy products with the big stickers have all in the world to do with the shape they are in. Plus they way over spend in advertisements. You cannot turn on the TV and with in 15 minutes not see at least 2 ads for new autos

    That's part of it. Also, they refused to make cars that would outsell Honda and Toyota.
