is it bad to open a dishwasher in operation?

My girlfriend says it is bad for the dishwasher to open the door while it is on. Is this true?

No it's not, they are designed to shut off when the door is opened. Everything stops when the door is opened and resume when you close it. You may need to add something to the wash or forgot to put detergent or whatever go ahead.

no it not true the d/w cut off once you open the door. you may get a little steam come out but it want hurt you

It's fine for mine. It just stops when I open it and restarts when the door is closed.

YEAH, Do you want the water to go everywhere? Depending on the kind of washer it may break the timing.
