Is my 18 yr old son (HFA, LD) eligible for SSI, SSD?

18 yr old son, high functioning autism, severe dysgraphia, etc, will attend small college with lots of extra help.

Can he get SSI, or SSD?

It can't hurt to apply. I've heard you should keep applying after rejection as some people get it.

HFA is vague. There are still varying degrees of severity within that Dx.

If your adult child does not have the ability to be independent, you have a good argument for SSI.
