Welcome to the Jungle was Axl Rose's view of Los Angeles after coming out west. He is from the Midwest and he soon learned that LA is not all glamor and movie stars and success. He learned of the ugly side of life in the city and the way the hayseed's and wannabe starlets get chewed up and spit back out by Southern Cal... It is a jungle baby, and you're gonna die!
