Have we crossed the line where our Liberty is lost forever in the United States? If not, when?
"With the decision of the United States Supreme Court to hear District of Columbia v. Heller in late 2007, an early 2008 movement began in Montana involving at least 60 elected officials addressing potential secession if the Second Amendment were interpreted not to grant an individual right, citing its compact with the United States of America."
If we have not already, then at what point will the line be irrevocably crossed?
Peace and prosperity.
"A lot of Americans find it convenient to exchange a little liberty for no responsibility." As Benjamin Franklin said, "I think the best way of doing good to the poor, is not making them easy in poverty, but leading or driving them out of it."
Have we made it too comfortable for the poor?
Thomas Jefferson said, "The democracy will cease to exist when you take away from those who are willing to work and give to those who would not."
Is this not the case?
"If we were to lose our liberty, it would slowly ebb away under various pretexts. Be aware of the slippery slopes." I think we are already on the slope and nearing the rocky bottom.
Are we the boiled frog who hasn't noticed the water growing to a boil around us for decades? Have we not accepted Socialism (high taxes and heavy regulation)? Our highest corporate income tax rate is 10% higher than even communist China (25%). Is the water not already boiling? Have we not already abandoned the country that the Framers paid in blood for us?
"There is no way a liberal or conservative could overturn the second amendment which is clear as day, without stating that they oppose that part of the Constitution outright." Obama's Attorney General pick, Eric Holder, argued in the Supreme Court that the 2nd Amendment was NOT an individual right [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eric_Holder]. If he had won, or the Court was one Liberal stronger, Montana would have seceded.
If we are not, when will the line be crossed? Obama has a strong anti-gun history, strong pro-abortion history, strong high tax (confiscation of wealth) history, and believes in socialist values (which fly in the face of what our Founding Fathers believed). They were farmers and business men that fought, bled and died against the tyranny of the abuse of power by the British Empire and the king's punitive tax policies.
Where are our liberal brothers and sisters? When will they answer the question? Is Liberty been lost? At what point will they be satisfied with the destruction of our liberty?

If they actually succeed at taking our guns..then all is lost. There are movements all over the courts for states to seceede on the grounds of the Patriot Act violations alone. IF the 2nd amendment suddenly was revoked..we would have state militias forming left and right...and there's the birth of the next American Civil war...
What is going on now is that our elected officials are saying the 2nd amendment was intended for police and military personel only..not the average citizen...but word for word "A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed." What part of "the people" defines military and police only? And what part of "not be infringed" dont they understand?
Legislation like that defines the citizens right to assign new guards.
I understand your concern..Obama is a frightning "constitutional scholar". The next step is to disarm the citizens..and go forth with Martial law making mandatory his Civilian National Security Force by sending us off to Gaza, Pakistan, and/or Iran...Obama is Loyal to Israel..we will continue to fight wars for them..
We already have the second amendment..that IS the civillian national security force..that is one of the reasons Japan did not do a ground invasion durring WW2, they knew the US citizens were armed.
Constitutionally, Obama would have to go through congress to repeal the amendment..and it is hard to appeal an amendment. BUT, if he doesnt reverse the Bush's war time authority over the other 2 branches of government...he would not need the approval of congress. he can just take our rights, declare martial law..and leave congress 6 months before they can evern review the order. By then the country will be in shambles and there would be no congress. Like I said, firghtening "constitutional scholar".

Read a book called "500 Year Leap". If you recall, we were in this place you speak of prior to the Declaration of Independence. When the American people have had enough, you'll know. Problem is, there is a conflict of interest. A lot of Americans find it convenient to exchange a little liberty for no responsibility. President Ford had a great quote.
"Any Government large enough to give you everything is large enough to take everything". We are a divinely inspired country, we'll reverse this socialist push, trust me.

No. There is no way a liberal or conservative could overturn the second amendment which is clear as day, without stating that they oppose that part of the Constitution outright. All they could do in the meantime is add more restrictions to legal gun ownership, such as mandatory waiting periods, registration, conceal / carry permits, etc.
I don't make a big deal out of gun ownership but I understand your concern about the Constitution. I would be more concerned about the growth of government spending and control over these past few decades.

It's sad that we don't remember 9/11 and the thousands of innocent Americans of all race and party who died for no reason, at least one we can understand. It is not only a shame, but a disgrace what Obama will allow to happen to those who protected us during this period. There are no morals Obama won't walk allover.

The minute that the majority of Americans prefer comfort over freedom, liberty will be lost, and will not return without bloodshed. [Paraphrasing John Adams].
How soon that happens? It seems that it already has.

Wouldn't it just be easier to deport 60 people, if they don't like it here.
Put them on some rock off the coast of Puerto Rico and let them drink rum and shoot each other.

We lost our freedom long ago. It's to the point now where a majority of the voters don't want freedom. If they don't want it, they aren't going to get it.
