Although doctors have confirmed this as a myth, i am still a strong believer that it does. Doctors believe that hairs only appear thicker because the end of the hairs have not blunted out yet. However, my brother has shaved his head several times and grew it out long for a while. His hair was very thick and healthy, even at its longest (up to mid back) as opposed to mine which is very thin and thinning at 22 years old =( (i'm a girl). When we compared a strand of hair, his was twice as thick as one of mine! I've been seriously considering shaving my locks but i can't bring myself to do it!

Some people will argue that if this was the case bald men would shave their heads all the time in order to grow more hair, but bald men (and women in some cases) are bald because the follicles in their head have died and hair growth cannot be promoted in those areas. Thicker hair means thicker strands not necessarily more hair so if a bald man was to shave the remainder of his hair i believe the strands would grow back thicker.

People will aslo argue that me and my brother have different type of hair but our mother confirms that the thickness and volume was the same if not very similar as we were growing up. Either way, although my theory isn't 100 percent accurate i'm a firm believer. Doesn't hurt to try!

I have my own opinion on it. Think about new hair and how it is lighter and thinner at the end where it first started to grow. First off, it is not going to keep growing and growing (well depending on where it is) but if you shave it off, the hair will look darker and end up being longer because the hair that is showing is the more mature hair which is thicker and darker. I assume that it would grow faster too. Think about your eye brows. They grow to a certain length then stop. I feel like this could be partially similar to any other hair, although most keeps growing. I feel that once you cut hair (particularly facial hair), it will grow back to a certain short length quite fast then slow down. I would just shave a lot and hope for the best. I mean if it doesn't work, it's not like you really wasted that much time.

Yes your hair will grow back in thicker and darker like pretty much everyone else has said. Well if you have black hair then the darker part probably wont be that noticeable, but it will be thicker and you will be able to notice that when you shave. But starting to shave at a younger age won't effect it growing back faster.

It doesn't grow faster and it doesn't grow thicker. And age has nothing to do with it.
It appears to get thicker because hair that has never been cut/shaved comes to a thin point at the end, once you cut/shave it it doesn't come to that thin point - it is one thickness throughout the whole hair - which makes it appear to be thicker,darker, and more noticeable. But the more you shave the hair doesn't mean it will get more and more thick each time, but it can make the hair stiffer.

Well I mean, as you get older you grow more hair but I don't think its necessarily faster. My philosophy is no matter the age if a moustache is visible like REALLY visible something should be done about it. As you get older you will have to shave more often but that's all part of being a man or whatever.

its not that it grows faster as you grow older, it grows faster the more times you shave it. Age may also have a factor. The hair does also get thicker. Not so sure about the darker part though

Hm Coming From Me Because Iv Bin Through The Same At A Young Age I Shaved My Arms And Now Its Bin Like 5 Years And It Grew Back Worser My Advice Is Don't Ever Use A Shaver To Shave Or Remove Any Hair Waxing/Lasering Is The Best But If Its Really Really Bothering You And Also It Depends On Hormoans And Everyone Has Differnt Hormoans So You Never Know When It Would Grow Back
