    1. Ann is author. {Her books} sell very well in Europe.

A Ann is author whose books sell well in Europe.

    2. Ted is a journalist. We expect {his work}.

Ted is a journalist whose work we expect.

    3. The class is reading a book. {Its author} is quite radical.

The class is reading a book whose author is quite radical.

    4. People may have similar personalities. {Their genetic} make-ups ar

    e similar.

People whose genetic make-ups are similar may have similar personal

    ities.

    5. Hans finally succeeded in meeting the artist. He had been admiring {her works} for tears.

Hans finally succeeded in meeting the artist whoseworks he had been admiring for years

    2.a

    1. Ann is author. Her books sell very well in Europe.

    >> Ann is an author whose books sell very well in Europe.

    2. Ted is a journalist. We expect his work.

    >> Ted, whose works we expect is a journalist.

    3. The class is reading a book. Its author is quite radical.

    >> The author, whose book the class is reading is quite radical.

    4. People may have similar personalities. Their genetic make-ups are similar.

    >> People whose genetic make-ups are similar may have similar personalities.

    5. Hans finally succeeded in meeting the artist.

He had been admiring her works for tears.

    >> Hans finally succeeded in meeting the artist whose works

he had been admiring for years.
