In contrast to other posters, I do not advocate preschool for 3yr olds. Many are just not 'ready' for an institutional group setting. And mom could teach as much or more than any preschool out there. Look into joining your local MOPS chapter. (Mothers of Preschoolers) These are usually free or just a couple bucks a month. Look into your library for story time programs (some offer scholarships). Also, your local parks/recreation programs may offer low-cost classes (again, scholarships may be available). Look into zoo kid programs, too. There is alot out there, and I give you kudos for keeping your little one home w/ you. Sometimes grocery stores have a food class, too. You are bringing the 'world' to your child, something she cannot get in preschool. I teach PreK, and many kids are not ready for school at 3. There are alot of programs in the community, best wishes, and enjoy your child and her early years !! !!!!
