Why is the Philadelphia chromosome specific for leukemias? ?

why wouldn't a similar translocation take place in other stem cells (e.g. skin) and promote carcinoma?

    Medical science is far more complex than the obvious would lend thought to expect.

    The short answer to your question is that the recipient cell has to be sympathetic to the host
