Please help! I've looked on every possible website, searched Google using every possible keyword(s), and tried everything else! I have the impression that it was never published but - oh, I just really want to read it!

it looks like you are right - there is no article on this series at Wikipedia but under "Zenda" there is this sentence

Zenda, a series of 8 children's books (2004-2005) created by John Amodeo and Ken Petti, written by Cassandra Westwood and published by Grosset & Dunlap

suggesting that number 9 never got finished
