As shown in the name, "Meditation" is only a piece of 沉思 (when Thais thought of her past time), it has actually no meaning of sorrow. I think the reason why many people consider it as a sad piece is most probably because of the sad melody. However, it is only showing the changing emotions of Thais, not telling that she was sad.

Therefore, I think you should not express your sadness in this piece. You should play it with a feel of 滄桑 (especially towards the end of the piece).

I was once criticized for playing this piece too sad...
