雖然教學對象的小朋友年紀平均在6.7歲,但有些小朋友已經有一些基本的英文程度了!所以在授課上的準備,主要還是以單字為基本,加強小朋友對單字的認識,能一眼看到單字就知道如何發音及中文意思。另外可讓小朋友習慣英文會話,例如簡單的招呼語,Hello!how are you?這類,使小朋友對英文更產生興趣。當然,老師在課堂上的class language也是很重要的!主要是以單字及會話為課堂重點去計劃一堂課程,文法對於小朋友來說會太困難,小朋友會沒耐心去了解。另外可在課堂後半段加入遊戲,充滿好奇心的小朋友聽到遊戲,就會很踴躍想玩,因此透過遊戲,可達到學習英文的良好效果。

Though they’re aged between 6 or 7 years old, some children have already had basic knowledge of English. So we focus on vocabularies in the first place, to let them know the pronunciations and Chinese meanings of the word once they saw it. In addition, we try to let them be familiar with the English conversations like the simple greeting words, such as “Hello!”, “How are you?”, etc., so that they’ll be interested in saying it. Of course, the class language is also important to teachers. We mainly focus on vocabularies and conversations as the major course of the study for the children while it could be harsh for them to understand the grammars because they’re not patient with it. Besides, we could play the games on the second half of the class and the children would be in great interest to hear that they could play games in the class as well. So it’s a far more effective way to learn English through the plays.

Certainly, teacher's class language is also very important! The main plan of curriculum can be on individual words and the conversation in the classroom. Grammar can be too difficult to children who are in lack of patientce. Furthermore, you may plan to have the children to join games in the second half of each session. Children are curious. When they hear the games, they will certianly try to play, so that you can achieve your teaching goals easily.
