Like it or not we are part of the food chain. Global warming affects the animals in Arctic areas first. As the sea warms, it loses it's salinity. The food that many of our aquatic life whales and sea plants eat depend on the salinity in the sea in order to produce offspring. The fishes eat the other creatures that eat this microscopic plant and animal life. We in turn eat the fish. When you remove one segment of the food chain, then that part of the chain collapses. Can you imagine a world without fish? Try to think of all the life that depend on just fish for life. I will list some. Sea otters, birds like Sea Gulls, Eagles, Osprey, Hawks, Marbled Murrelets. In turn other birds and animals eat fish like bears, raccoons, and all the scavengers that follow them around.etc. The list goes on. Also in turn, many humans depend on fish to eat and make a living from. Think of this, no fish, no fisherman. No fishermen, No fishing boats, no fishing boats no jobs for boat builders, repairmen, tackle salesmen, port workers, guides, sporting goods stores, etc. And that is just one link in the food chain disappearing. Plus the greater burden on the farmers to produce more food to feed the world population.
Remember, We Are The World! Each one of us is a link to everything else on this Earth. When one food link fails, the effects will be devastating on our economy, and our ability to feed each other.
