Why is eating smaller meals more frequently, a better way of losing weight rather than three big meals a day?

I mean i know that eating smaller, more frequent meals keeps the metabolism running, but wont it still be the same if you eat three big meals a day? Because inbetween each of the three meals, your body is digesting the food still.

When you eat 4 or 5 smaller meals instead of 3 big ones you are constantly adding to the metabolism engine. YOur body can break down food and use the nutrients in about 2 hours time for most food. Complex carbs and proteins take longer but most foods are broken down within that 2 hour span. If you keep adding food for your body to "work" and break down that burns extra calories.

3 meals will actually allow your body to slow down and stall its metabolism. Yeah you will have no food in your body to break down between meals but the benefit of the higher metabolism burning extra calories is far greater.

Eating smaller meals will also condition your body to eat smaller meals. If you eat 3 larger meals everyday all the time your body will become used to the size of the larger meals. So when you have a day where you're not in your routine or on the road and have to eat quickly. your body will crave the larger meals because that is what it is used to eating. If you were used to eating smaller meals all day it would feel full quicker. This would be a difference of 200-300 calories per meal. Or in a different view, it would take on average 30 mins of cardio to burn the extra calories from the larger meals.

Eating 5 or 6 smaller meals is good but 3 of those "meals" should actually be a good snack or something and eating this way will make u less hungry cuz u will hav more energy from the spread out meals some good foods to eat with ur actual meals are brown rice or potatoes cuz they have a resistant starch in them that burns the fat u already have in ur body making u burn more calories if u exercise :) also taking ur time while eating is good too cuz if u enjoy ur food ur less likely to want more and will feel full but a good satisfied full :) it's a good feeling

When you eat smaller meals more often you don't get hungry faster so you are less likely to crave food because you will be full and when you exercise also this gives your metabolism a boost and that's when you drop the weight

With smaller meals, the body has a chance to digest and metabolize the food. If you have one big calorie and carbo-load all at once, the body can't metabolize all of it, so it gets stored as fat.

By eating smaller portions more frequently, you might develop a faster metabolism and your body will learn to digest more easily. But be careful, your body might adapt to much to eating small portions, so when you decide to eat a large meal, you might gain more weight.

It will give your body more time to digest the food also you may find that after 4 mini meals you arent hungry anymore.

because the more meals you eat it keeps your metabolism running... where as if you eat three big meals.. your metabolism slows down when there is no food in your body...

When you eat smaller meals more frequesntly, your blood sugas (glucose) level is less likely to "spike." This means less insulin is produced by your bod to counteract the increase in blood sugar. (Insulin causes the body to store calories as fat.) Small, frequent meals keep your blood sugar levels steady, thus avoiding the big spikes.

Because your body is a complex lil system and think of it like a sewage waste processing plant that has 1hr to process all it can and then the rest goes to waste...

all the sudden you pile in a ton of garabage now it has to process this and a lot of it wont get process all of it in an hour and well it just doesnt get processed..

where a small load of garbage it can easily process and fully recycle into the system without zero waste.
