About diffusion

1. Can diffusions take place in solid? Give examples if yes.

2. Can starch diffuse from a region of higher concentration to one with lower concentration?

    1. no.

    2. Since starch does not dissolve in water, it is useful for plants to use it as a storage of food because it do not diffuse inside the plant's body cell and affect the potential of its cells. It's clearly to see that starch cannot diffuse from a region of high concentration to the lower concentration region. Only if it is transformed to soluble sucrose can it be circulate within the plants.

    2)starch is too big that it cannot pass throught the cell member because it is selectively permeable.So starch cannot diffuse from a region of higher concentration to one with lower concentration
