Which Ann combo do you like?

Ann Louise

Ann Noelle

Ann Lavinia

Ann Rosalie

Ann Rosalia

Ann Rosamund

Ann Rosalind

Ann Rosemary

Ann was my mother's name. She passed away when I was young, and we were quite close. I'd love to honor a daughter with her name. Originally, I was stuck on Annika and Anneliese, but I'm beginning to appreciate plain old Ann for it's quiet, understated beauty. It's simple, dignified, and strong, yet distinctly feminine. Besides, if my daughter really hates it, she could always go by Anna, Annika, or Annie when she gets older.

I'd like to balance out it's "plainness" with a more frilly middle name. For whatever reason, I'm leaning towards Rose names. So, tell me what you think, and feel free to throw some suggestions at me.

Update:

its quiet, dignified beauty*

haha, sorry, quite tired.

i think that it is wonderful that you'd like to name your child after your mother. my nannas name was ann. but she changed it to that. it originally was lillian alys.( pronounced a-lees)

You were right the first time: "plain old Ann" ... no disrespect, but it's a bit bland for my taste. One imagines plain old Ann desperately wishing you had named her something a little more exotic, like Annika or Anneliese, which she could then shorten to Ann or Annie, if the occasion called for it, rather than the other way around. "My name is Ann but do call me Anneliese, everyone does." Doesn't quite work, does it? As for her middle name, Louise, Rosalind and Rosemary are all nice.

I'm drawn to Ann Louise for some reason.

Ann Rosalie, or rather the more French Anne Rosalie is a very pretty name too.

I LOVE the name Rosamund; I don't think I see it working with Ann in this manner though. Maybe as Rosamund Annelise? ("ah neh LEEZ")

I prefer Anna. Or use it as a middle name. Ann really is plain and old fashioned.
