Candy cane actually should be called "J" candy, was invented by a Christian candy businessman. "J" represents Jesus; the white part represents holiness and innocence, the red swirl represents to expiate sin by His blood, and the green swirl represents God gave human "the gift of life". Traditionally, candy cane is made by mint for mint was a kind of hyssop and it represents purity and sacrifice. Christmas is in memory of the birth of Jesus, so we can't celebrate without "J" candy.
