yeah you can use it, as long as you're not trying to make money off the song itself. Its the same thing as kareoke (however you spell it)Source(s): experienced

If you're being paid to sing, your employer is going to expect that you sing and not just lipsync to a radio. Due to copyright laws, you're going to be expected to play your own song or songs that are free to the public.

If you are doing the the singing/playing, you can cover (perform) another group's songs.
