Lilbourne and Lilburn are villages in England which will be where the surname comes from. The name means 'stream where the lillies grow'.

John Lilburne is a good namesake, he was a Leveller during the English Civil War and was an influence for the US Constitution. There was a drama on the tv about him recently here in the UK. T'was good.

I couldnt find a meaning anywhere. It sounds as though it may have been a last name. My grandfathers middle name was an old family surname, Kilbourne.

Sorry but I was lmao when I was reading the answers.

haha, my first reaction was also "when you just barely touch a hot pan, you get a lil' burn..." I've never heard it as a name before--not my fave, but if you like it, go with it!
