Do Christians against evolution know they're breaking the 9th Commandment when speak against it?

Last post I put down Amendment instead of Commandment, silly me.

Update:

The 9th Commandment says "Thou shall not bear false witness"

    I agree.

Evolution happens - creatures evolve. We evolved from earlier forms. The evidence is there, the mechanisms are well understood. The evolutionary model makes successful predictions all the time. The Theory of Evolution is a solid as atomic theory, tectonic plate theory, and the germ theory of disease.

Many creationists believe in natural evolution - they believe God set off the Big Bang and let it run from there. Others believe the Book of Genesis is 100% factual history. So there is no consistent "creationism" viewpoint.

So the argument is really "evolution acceptance" versus "evolution denial", where evolution denial is no different than any other form of reality denial. Evolution denial = Holocaust denial = lunar landing denial = round Earth denial.

Evolution-deniers claim Evolution is "only a theory". But in science, any complex model in science is called a "theory". The theory that life evolved from earlier life is as well supported as the "theories" that the continents drift, that germs cause disease and that stuff is made of atoms. You can bet you life on all of those "theories".

Evolution-deniers claim there is no evidence for Evolution. This is a lie. Here are a long list of strong evidence for evolution, and even a list of how you'd disprove evolution, and why the evidence supports evolution:

    http://www.talkorigins.org/faqs/comdesc/section1.h...

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Evidence_of_evolution

Evolution-deniers claim scientists are "abandoning" evolution because some scientists signed a statement saying they are skeptical that Darwinian evolution accounts for all the variation in the species. But (1) this doesn't mean those scientists believe it takes divine or non-natural intervention for evolution to happen, and (2) the list is a FRAUD:

    Youtube thumbnail

Not only that, but there are nearly 12,000 Christian CLERGY who've signed a statement supporting evolution and rejecting the teaching of creationism as science. Science isn't about voting, but even if it was, evolution still wins.

    http://www.butler.edu/clergyproject/Christian_Cler...

Evolution-deniers claim the fossil record does not support evolution, and that there are no intermediate species. This is an outright lie. Here is an "Old Earth Creationist" explaining about all sorts of intermediate species and how the fossil record absolutely supports evolution: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q9a-lFn4hqY

    Youtube thumbnail

Evolution-deniers, unable to refute the actual theory of evolution, then say "evolution doesn't explain the creation of the first life or the creation of the universe." That is also dishonest, because the theory of evolution doesn't ATTEMPT to explain those. It has nothing to do with those. The birth of the universe is cosmology, not evolution. And non-life to life is abiogenesis. We don't YET know how abiogenesis happened, but here is one hypothesis:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U6QYDdgP9eg

    Youtube thumbnail

Evolution-deniers claim we've never SEEN evolution - that's a lie, because we have:

    http://www.nytimes.com/2007/06/26/science/26lab.ht...

    http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2008/04/08041...

    http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/13845002/

So only by rejecting knowledge and denying reality (or by lying) can you deny that life evolved and continues to evolve.

Source(s): EDIT: And to Hitchhiker above me - I'm amazed that you give examples of science making corrections as something negative. Science discovers its own frauds and errors and fixes them. It updates its books. Religions just "reinterpret" their books, or decide some parts (e.g. Leviticus) are "archaic". I happen to think hundreds of years of relentless investigation, admitting mistakes and correcting them is a better path to truth than thousands of years of dogma and denial.

How do you know that evolution isn't a hoax? Are you sure that the data given by scientists is true? If you do think that, how can you prove that it is true? By what standard do you measure the truthfulness of the evolution theory? Do you simply and blindly parrot what you hear? Let's say that you hire another scientist to research the evolutionists research and then agrees with it. How do you know that perhaps the scientist you hired isn't lying about the lies that he found?

Are the science books reliable? Some still contain the Miller Experiment fiasco, the deliberate hoax of the Piltdown Man, The Java Man mistake, Peking Man mistake, the Nebraska Man fiasco, the Lucy mistake, the Ramapithecus mistake, and several other deliberate hoaxes and blunders.

Let us not forget the Neanderthal botch. It was once thought the the Neanderthal was a man but genetic DNA research indicates that the chromosomes do "not" match those of humans but they "do" match those of apes. Go figure huh? In light of the above, are you sure about your question? If you want more information about the evolutionary theory/fact?/hoax/ or otherwise, email me.

Is it really lying if you are repeating a falsehood someone you trusted told you?

In the end though, someone had to lie. The common creationists claims spread by the likes of Hovind or Ham are blatantly and obviously false to anyone with any education in science. They have to know they are bunk.

no we are not, the ninth commandment is not to want what your neighbor has, that has nothing to do with speaking against other religions
