Can my former employer get in trouble for not contributing to my Social Security?

My former employer did not contribute to my social security. Can they get in trouble for that?

yes, i was a regular employee, not a subcontractor

    The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) is the collector of Social Security tax. If you report the employer to IRS, they will determine if you were an employee and go after the employer for the tax due.

    If you were charged deductions as a regular employee, it's fraud.

    If you were a subcontractor, probably not

    Yes if they deducted the money from your paycheck then definitely.
