What are your thoughts on apocalyptic predictions of the year 2012?
What are your thoughts on predictions of the year 2012 and what it means for the future of the human race? Before I start rambling I want to bring up some of the different speculations about 2012.
One of the main speculations involves the ancient Mayan "Long Count" Calendar. This calendar was made to represent the days passed since the Mayan era, and seems to end on the day December 21, 2012. Many people think that the calendar ends on this day because it will be the last day known to the human race.
Another major speculation is the I Ching. The I Ching was a book that was used to predict personal fortunes in ancient times. Three coins would be tossed six times. If tails came up the majority of the time, a solid line would be drawn, if mostly heads came up, a broken line would be drawn. This would be done 64 times to complete 64 hexagrams. While the I Ching gave very vague answers to personal questions, another shocking discovery was made about the I Ching by Terrence Mckenna. Mckenna graphed the change in each hexagram and plotted it on a time graph starting from the beginning of the I Ching. Upon doing this, he found that his graph ended on December 21, 2012.
A third speculation involving 2012 is the Web Bot Project. The Web Bot Project is a bot that searches the web and picks out key words or phrases on the Internet and takes a screenshot of them. These screenshots were primarily used as a way to pick stocks. However, it is now used to make predictions about the future. This bot predicted a major event happening just before the terrorist attack on September 11, 2001. Additionally, this bot has predicted something major happening in 2012.
I have my own very simple opinions on each of these matters. I won't spend too much time expressing my opinions, however i will say that I disagree with the apocalyptic predictions of 2012. Here are some of my thoughts and questions regarding the topic.
If the Mayans believed that the world was going to end in the year 2012, why did they come up with names for lengths of amounting to more than 63 million years, such as the alautun? While this could have been used to refer to the past, it was probably made to refer to the future. Also, just because this particular calendar ended on that day, how does that correlate to the end of the world? How is it any different than one of our annual calendars ending, besides the length of time it expresses?
I fail to understand the I Ching graph over time completely. How did Terrence Mckenna go about picking an X Axis Scale for his graph. In other words, why did he choose the amount of time each change in hexagram represented that he did? Couldn't such a graph be made over any period of time that would end on the exact day you wanted to? Seems a bit fishy to me.....
Lastly, the Web Bot Project. With all of the discussion about 2012 on the Internet, of course it is going to predict 2012 as the end of the world . Even as i type this, or submit it anyway, this bot is taking a screenshot of nearly my whole post! Think about all of the times 2012 is mentioned on the Internet. It is no wonder why the bot picked this year.
Now it's your turn. Tell me how you feel about the predictions of 2012, and please try to support your answers to the best of your ability. Feel free to mention whether you disagree or agree with the predictions, and anything else you have to add. Also feel free to correct me on any mistakes that I made. Thanks!

Winter solstice 2012 is just the revealing of the 'antichrist' or the 'man of perdition' at the mid-point of what Christians call the 7 year Tribulation. Satanists and many pagan cultures from every corner of the world all throughout history have celebrated this like the Sumerians, Babylonians, Cherokee, Hopi, Chinese I-Ching (confirmed by Terence McKenna), Mayans (Pacal Votan; Chilam Balam of Tizimin, Mani, Chumayel; Jaguar Prophet), Egyptians, Celts, etc. This evil event is called "the abomination that causes desolation" that will be set up in the Jewish Temple's Holy of Holies when the antichrist is imbued with the power of satan himself. When will Jesus come? Only God Himself knows exactly, but very soon in "the twinkling of an eye" and like "a thief in the night". If you believe or not, that is up to you; either way it still comes.
Things to look for to PROVE it to yourself soon:
>Fall of America as an economic power and other ways. The buying up and consolidation of powerful banks and corporations by the government in a pretend "bail out" power grab to kill the U.S. dollar and ring in a one world currency.
Crash of other American banks and the nation's financial underpinning: Operation Sitting Duck
>The Big One: Revelation 18. America goes down on the list of fabled societies nobody believes in any more like Atlantis, Mu, Lemuria, Hyperborea, etc..
>Martial law. (Google some of Bush's executive orders concerning it- Nightmarish!)
>The fallen 'alien' agenda: Implementation of Project Bluebeam (be ready to hear more and more 'alien talk' & watch your local skies for the show!)
Just in time for 2012! After decades of conditioning, billions will
fall for it. Will you? (2 Thessalonians 2:9-12)
WHY DID WE EVEN DIG THEM UP?
>Revelation 13:16-18 Trying to make people first accept the REAL ID card (to get you in the system) and then right after forcibly implanting people with these RFID microchips- the coming 'answer' to the world economic crisis:
>The start of the North American Union and true globalization..
>Push to attack Iran which will start WW3-the atomic war to end all wars. (If you think China, Russia, and the Muslim world would just sit back, you are a mistaken fool!). Escalation of the Georgian/Russian & Indian/Pakistan conflicts.
>Final push to one world government: The New World Order- The 4th Reich! (The brutal final empire foreseen by the prophet Daniel and John the Revelator)
>Rise of a miraculous and awe inspiring world leader later to turn world dictator.
>Push to one world religion where there are "many ways to God".
>Toleration of everything but Jews and Christians.
>Temporary and unheard of "peace in the middle east".
>More world wide food shortages and famines.
>More earth quakes. More fires. Strange and severe weather.
>Major spiritual awakenings.
>Rise of Islamic fanaticism.
>Rise in wickedness and corruption.
>Take a few minutes to listen to what this young child uncovered:
THEY ARE ALREADY PRACTICING <A MUST SEE>
Christians look forward to this as it means they will soon join their Saviour & Redeemer in the Millennial Kingdom of the next Age and their Heavenly Father later as "Children of Light". If you try to equate 2012 with Y2K or some other date that cried wolf, then you will be making the worst mistake of your lifetime. This topic is strange because i know that many people are experiencing what may already be the end of their world (hunger, disease and so forth).
As for the rest of us, we're not treating this world in the manner it should be treated. There's global warming everywhere and people who dont believe in it, there's terrorist attacks every year (2001 US, 2008 Mumbai, 2005-2006 Part of the London attacks) and there is tons of corruption on every street corner. I mean, no wonder the world is seemingly coming to an end........
The Mayan calendar I'm not so sure about and I guess the I Ching is doubtable but we didn't believe that 9/11 could happen and it did. (A folded up five dollar bill shows the burning twin towers and that in itself was a BIG prediction).
Basically what I'm trying to say is that yes, this seems like this could happen, but there still needs to be more research or evidence first.

I don't know why people continue to refer to 2012 as Doomsday.. It is the end of the Mayan Long Count Calender, the beginning of a new era, not the end of the world..
All the disasters which are happening throughout the world right now have been foretold, even in the Bible..
Crop-circles are a direct communication from the Light Beings, Interdimensional travellers who are here to help with our Ascension into the 5th dimension..They are not man-made as the government and the government run puppet media would have you believe..They are also mentioned in the Bible, Acts 2:19..
There is a new frequency being received right now by the earth and we are all being affected by it, many of us have a job to do and we are becoming aware of just who we really are..Many of us are Light Workers and we will have task of helping others understand what is happening...
The Church knows this is happening and they are calling it the 2nd coming among other things, just another con really, they know their time is up...
I will post a couple of sites for you, but I am more of a book man personally, and if you go to amazon.com and punch in 2012 there are plenty of books there...Also punch in Mayan prophesies, and you will be amazed as to how many people have written books on the subject...
There should be enough diverse information in just these two web-sites to get your mind thinking in overdrive... If you want to know about some book titles, feel free to e-mail me..

Every civilization, generation, religion has a doomsday story. So far none of them have come true. From what I understand of the long count callendar, the world is not going to end in 2012, but rather a new cycle of time will begin. The world may change, but it will not end. Remember the whole Y2K scare....nothing really bad happened did it? We start dying the day we are born, never know when we're going to die. You might as well enjoy your life and stop spending time thinking about if the world will end in a few years. You could step out on the street tomorrow and get hit by a bus. The world would end for you, but the rest of us will go merrily along.

It's ignorant not to think there's a chance of our civilization ending sometime soon.
Every great civilization ends eventually, and for us to think we're better than that is a mistake.
Most civilizations end due to over-utilization of their natural resources, and I think it's safe to say that is exactly what we're doing.

It's all BS. Everyone in the past who tried to predict the End was wrong, obviously. Remember Y2K? Prepare to live to your old age.

I believe that the world is coming to it's end for mankind, but when or why is not yet known.
