    First step convert 6 and one fourth to decimal, ie, 6.25.

    Now you have 6/N = 6.25/100

    You then cross multiply. Ie, 6x100 = 6.25xN

    That equates to 600 = 6.25N.

    Now divide 600 by 6.25 to get a value for N. Therefore N = 600/6.25

    And N is equal to 96.

    6 and 1/4 is the same as 25/4. 25/4 divided by 100 is like saying (25/4) x (1/100), which is 1/16. 6/N = 1/16. Cross multiply to get 16 x 6 = N x1.

    6/n = 6.25/100 cross multiply 6.25n = 600 divide each side by 6.25

    My comp calc said 96 so n = 96

    6/n = 6.25/100

    times 4 to get rid of the decimal in the numerator

    24/4n = 25/400

    9600 = 250n

    n = 38.4

    6/N = 25/6 / 100

    100x6 = 25/6 x N

    600 = 25/6 (N)

    600 (6 / 25) = N

    144 = N

    put it on paper:

    6/n = 6.25/100

    cross multiply

    6*100 = 6.25n

    n= 600/6.25 = 96

  • 1 decade ago

    n = 96 because

    6.25/100 = 0.0625, so 6/n = 0.0625

    Invert:

    n/6 = 1/0.0625

    So 6 x 1/0.0625 = n = 96.
