Highly likely. Anyone that wanted Croom out of State is stupid. He went in there with nothing and cleaned the program up, not to mention their now going to lose a handful or Croom's top recruits that had already gave a verbal commit. I think Croom has done a good job with what he has, and their isn't anyone better to overtake the job.

No, He got tired of filling SEC's token/quota job. He knew from the start that there was really no way he could be competitive in the SEC. Who want's to go to Mississippi State? No tradition there, and nothing to see.

  • No. But when you haven't had a winning season in five years and had a disappointing season ended by getting shut out by your rival, why wouldn't you leave?

He was probably hearing footsteps and maybe hearing some rumblings and maybe beat 'em to the punch.

They won't say that but I'm pretty sure it was strongly suggested.
