How much does Tracfone charge per text message?

I know Tracfone charges per minute when you buy a card, but how much does it cost to send/receive a text message? I am looking into buying some sort of prepaid for christmas, but am not sure what is best for texting. Thanks.

I am charged .30 to send & .30 to recieve

If you are looking to text only, Tracfone can be very cheap. I recommend buying a double minute phone or buying a double minute card at some point. It will more than pay for itself. Plus you can find promo codes to get even more minutes.

Text messaging rates for tracfone vary depending on the phone. With certain phones you are charged .3 units to send text messages and you can receive text messages for free. With other phones, you are charged .5 units to both send and receive text messages.

(that'd mean 33.3 cents or 50 cents, depending on the phone)

Don't open the messages. When it says you have a new message delete the message. Or just leave it alone.
