Sorry for the paste and link but how far would i go down.

this all varies if you add non production cars also,as its not unusual to see tuned cars like supra's and skylines seeing scary figures and out running top cars like the veryron on the quarter mile.

All of these are productions are that are available to buy in America and all street legal. Ferrari, Porsche, Lamborghini do not even make the top 5 quickest cars.

    1. Bugatti Veyron 0-60mph in 2.4 seconds.

    2. SSC Aero TT 0-60mph in 2.7 seconds.

    3. Saleen S7 0-60mph in 2.9 seconds.

    4. Koenigsegg CCR 0-60mph in 3.0 seconds.

    5. Mclaren F1 0-60mph in 3.2 seconds.

Well, tricky practically got them all.

The only other ones I can think of are a Lingenfelter Corvette, which accelerated from 0-60 in 1.97 seconds (not on street-legal tires, though; they were probably drag slicks), and the Barabus TKR, which has a claimed 0-60 time of 1.6 seconds. That's just a claim at the moment, though.
