No. There will be no needles involved.

Here is what you can expect :

    1. They use the "bite block" or the "mouth prop" to keep your mouth open.

    2. They insert a saliva ejector in your mouth.

    3. They isolate the areas with cotton roles as needed.

    4. Then they clean the surfaces of the teeth that are to support the brackets with pumice.

    5. The also use chemical etch to increase the retention of the glue.

    6. Then they place the bonding agent, the glue (the composite resin material) and the brackets and "cure" the glue with the "blue" light.

    7. Then the wire is inserted through the horizontal slots of the brackets for each arch.

    8. The wire is then affixed to individual bracket with the elastic loops and thin segments of wire, as needed.

No, there aren't. It has nothing to do with needles. Only a lot of other tools.

Nope....just a bit of prodding and tugging. No real pain until the next day when you'll be a bit sore.

    Well worth it though!

    Good luck.

nope. i didn't need needles whatsoever. the only thing terribly uncomfortble is the amount of pressure they put on your mouth. i got them on halloween and you can only imagine how much it sucked not being able to eat candy on halloween!!

no. it does not hurt to have them placed. you will feel discomfort in a few hours afterward because your teeth will begin to move.
