Do you think Bush will need the same security after he is not President as he gets now?

I think he will given how hated world wide he is and how he has ruined our country.

No. He'll have bodyguards and a really nice home security system at his ranch in Crawford. Texas. And he can afford to hire all of the Blackwater Mercs he wants.

But, his detractors will no longer be relegated to "Free Speech Zones" a mile away from where he is appearing.

I don't think he'll need the same level of security. Hardly anyone still cares about him. And, aside from going down in history as the worst US President ever and being the low score comparison in the next incarnation of Sid Meier's Civilization--he'll soon fade into well deserved obscurity.

Americans will curse his name unto the 7th Generation and then forget it.

As a former president, he will still be entitled to security as needed.

The notion of worldwide hatred is a shame and your notion that he has "ruined" our country is ignorant. Unless things have changed drastically, this is a three branch government. The President is the one who catches all the grief for the errors made by Congress (yes, they are much worse) and any other department.

Just wait until Obama starts things moving. See how bad the economy gets then. He has already stated that if people takes his suggestions and they do not work, he has no accountability for it because he's not President yet. But if they work, he'll take credit in a half a second. Nice character. Already doing the tap dance.

He'll have the secret service just as every living president has.

In fact of them all the Bush family has the inside track on really good security from the top private contractors to augment their secret service protection.

You forget though that those people that hate him so much are gutless sh*t to the Nth degree. How worried about that should someone get?

as with every outgoing president they will have a secret service detail for life. i'm sorry you have such a sad twisted view of reality. BTW the greed, arrogance and selfishness of the American people are what screwed us up. if people would live within their means and not always want to be more important than someone else we would have been just fine!

BTW _- why is it you want people to respect obama and yet you don't do the same for the current president -- pathetic!

Yes, he will still need Secret Service protection, just not at the same level.

He's still despised by many hateful liberals, and there are lots of whackos out there that would love to do in a President.

Over time I imagine his Secret Service Security needs will decline as he slowly fades from our memories and passions.

What other people said about ex-presidents getting Secret Service protection for life is mostly true. Former president Nixon could have had protection for life but he voluntarily gave it up because his resignation. He is protected by civilians.
